About me

Who I Am

I live in Karlsruhe and work as a Delivery Manager at codecentric, bringing over 20 years of IT experience—from software development and architecture to leading teams. My drive is to create technological solutions that not only work but also empower people and processes in the long run.

In my free time, I focus on Context Engineering and experiment with AI tools like cline.bot and GitHub Copilot. I’m particularly interested in how precise context can improve our coding outcomes, a topic I explore in my blog series.

What Drives Me

  • Open Source: As a member of the Apache Software Foundation and a committer for Apache Karaf, I’m passionate about collaborating on open solutions.
  • Agility: Since becoming a certified Scrum Master in 2009, I’ve supported teams in working more flexibly and customer-centric.
  • Sharing Knowledge: I’m one of four authors of the Apache Karaf Cookbook and have contributed articles to JavaMagazin, including:
    • Elchtest – ELK Beyond HTTP Access Logs (2014/12)
    • Web Applications with Apache Karaf – Part 3: Web Visualization with Pax Web (2014/07)
    • Karaf 3.0 in the Enterprise – Part 2: Building JPA Applications (2014/06)
    • An OSGi Container Comes of Age – Part 1: Basics and Innovations (2014/05)

Currently

  • Blog series on Context Engineering (How AI can enhance coding)
  • Experiments with AI agents (e.g., “vibe-coding” vs. precise context prompts)
  • Leadership & Coaching (5-person team + strategic guidance for colleagues)

Personal

I believe technology should do more than just function—it should strengthen people and processes. When I’m not at my desk, you’ll often find me at meetups or with a good book on software architecture.
